Preparing our friend Nils for his trip to the Mukuru Slum of Nairobi where he will be continuing work we started with our friends there to reduce charcoal use, we demonstrate our home experiments.

  • If I was to do it all over again, and got permission from the wife, I would place the biogas digestor next to the bathroom window before the grey water collection tank and run the hot water as it comes out of the shower and bathtub and washmaschine through the biodigestor first to capture on the waste heat. Then I would have the solar heater as an additional heater for the few sunny days we get here in Germany. The point is that we have plenty of heat coming out of the bath every day.
