Actually, I was prepared to pour scorn on this when I saw "The Boating Guy" (I've seen so much rubbish from people with fancy titles), but it's very good. He's explaining basic stuff for novices and he does it in a clear and simple way. It's valuable info in a short lesson. His hint about getting your fenders stowed away as soon as you leave the dock is very important. I learned from a former WWII Royal Navy destroyer captain when I was in my teens. You do not want your ship to look sloppy :-)

Actually in the boating lingo, you can't tie anything to a dock as it is made of water. You should tie your lines to the pier.
