My Tutor was one of those films that adolescent males in the early 80's would stay up late to watch on cable. It starred Kevin McCarthy, Crispin Glover (in his film debut), Matt Lattanzi (who was dating Olivia Newton-John at the time, which helped him get the role - or at least that's what I've heard) and Caren Kaye as the Tutor every kid wanted. This tribute video was made for a friend who still wishes he had had a French tutor in the form of Caren Kaye. The song is 'Crazy For This Girl' by Evan and Jaron. If there happen to be any other Caren Kaye fans out there or just remember this movie - enjoy.
It was a nice surprise to hear Caren found this video and is doing well.

Saw her poolside at the Kahala Hilton in Honolulu in 1979. Approached her and asked her if she was Caren Kaye. She got the biggest smile on her face and said yes. She was elated that someone knew her. I just couldn't believe how small she was in person (height, that is). She was one of those knockouts that looked better in person than on the screen.

She had the perfect combination of beauty combined with warmth. Whatever role she played, she had this inner kindness that shined through. Unlike a lot of beauties that are just empty shells, Caren just seemed kind. Too bad all of the series she did seemed to fail. But I watched Blansky's Beauties, The Betty White Show, Who's Watching the Kids, Empire and It's Your Move just for her. It's a shame none lasted too long. I hope she is happy in her new life, away from the entertainment biz.

I'm glad to hear Caren and her husband have had a happy life and are doing well, though I miss seeing her on TV. Loved her cameo on "Taxi" as well.
