Interfaith Worker Justice (www.iwj.org) held a Leadership Summit June 13-15 in New Orleans. The organization invited U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis to speak at the event -- although she couldnt be there (she was out of the country), she sent this special recorded message, which was shown to those assembled.
I am opposed to "wage theft" also. I call "wage theft" by another name. I call it taxes and I call it wealth redistribution.
That is how the government steals my wages. Were's my justice?

Socialism sucks

She starts out talking about wage theft, then turns it into safety. Hmm. So, if we agree about safety, do we have to agree about wage theft? Wage theft sounds like if wages go down, she's going to make them go up. Why not say it?
How will she protect wages? Does that mean that if a company is going bankrupt, they should keep the same wages - and lay off everyone else? Shouldn't that be a choice for the employees? I hope she doesn't try to screw with this nation, I live here.

Slow slide? More resembles Thelma and Louise going off the cliff.

Has the 'slow slide' into socialism started yet?
And what do I do to 'get rid' of socialism?
Will actual education do the job? Or are these people just intellectual light-weights who will never grasp the hazard socialism represents for a 'free' people?
