SAMSARA is a 3 channel video installation created as part of Willie Cole's 2010 one person exhibition held at the Alexander and Bonin Gallery titled "Post Black and Blue." In the gallery this video was projected out of sync on three side of a room. SAMSARA (Sanskrit; Pāli, flowing on) refers to the cycle of repeated birth and death that individuals undergo until they attain nirvāṇa. "Samsara" sounded a lot like "some sorrow" says Cole. That how the flowing of tears and sadness became the subject of this video.
