Tressel did the same thing any good HC should do. His players messed up and he defended them. His position is like a father, any good parent will stand by their children (or for Tressel his players.) They traded merch for tattoos.. big deal. You think noone else in the ncaa, nfl, nba, mlb does the same thing? I'd rather a coach who defends his team than one who will just back down. He lied just like anyone else would, and left because he had to.
