The clip contains one of the greatest and most famous ab libs in movie history. Originally, the scene just called for James Cagney as George M. Cohan to walk down the stairs. Cagney, on his own, just broke into the dance steps & was later scored with "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and the moment became golden for generations of movie fans.

This is a great film with Mr Cagney. I don't understand why people want to jam their particular politics into it? President Obama is a Christian and a good family man. Republican John McCain pointed that out many times during the 2008 elections. What is the problem here folks? Yes, the desending of Mr Cagney as George M Cohan down the Whitehouse steps in an outstanding piece of cinematic history...I loved it! This is cinematic movies not of the political realm. Respect Hollywood & its grandeur

@bighardron - If Obama was a Muslim (which, by the way, is his 1st Amendment RIGHT even if he was), why was he in trouble for being a member of a CHRISTIAN church where the pastor said, "God damn America" from the pulpit? Besides showing bigotry with your "half-breed" comment, you show ignorance. Communism and Nazism are at the extreme opposite ends of the political spectrum. Nazism is far-right, which Obama is clearly not, but you appear to be.

@thomascapital - Bush a patriot and a great man?? No, Bush had to cancel a trip to Switzerland in 2011 because he is wanted on violations of the Geneva Conventions for war crimes. Bush was on the golf course just as much. Obama was only a failure because your GOP openly said that they would do anything necessary to make him fail, including destroying the American economy. That approaches TREASON. Google "Harper's Magazine Worst. President. Ever." and see why Bush EARNED that.

This is a genious scene! The dancing down the step was genious and then he walks out and his melody is being played, and he begins to sing with them! It made me want to cry, and I am not even American, but I felt proud! I knew the American history by heart, so this was just one of the many scenes which I understand to call fourth the American Spirit! Thank you for posting this from an very proud Scandinavian who feels like an American!
