@musicbox193 That is the solitary line from the original folk song that remains intact, actually. Just google "Green Grow the Rushes, O" for the real lyrics. They're vague, but have religious overtones, and also go on for a dozen verses, so I guess the Sesame Street writers decided to re-write a shorter, more secular, less confusing version.

Anybody wanting the real lyrics need only search "Green grow the rushes O" here on youtube for several nice choices. The poem "Green grow the rashes, o" note the spelling difference is also featured and will come up at the same time. These are two different songs with very different melodies and words. Only the titles are similar.

4 are the little brown ducklings.
3,3, the dragonflies.
2, 2, the little green frogs jumping on the lily so.
1 is 1 and all alone and ever more shall be so.

I think the turtle was the main memory jogger. I vaguely somewhere in my mind remembered it. Classic Sesame Street-got to love it!
