This is part two of my DIY projector video an is done more to show ho you can bypass the Lamp on a 3 LCD projector and what type of light source do you need for this type of projector in order to get good results.
There is also a Blender 3D animation at the end of the video.

  • Guys, what bulbs are you using?

I use Osram cool blue h1 and a modified 13v pc power supply.

The dark look very good looking and in slightly lit room.

Tried and hid xenon but the effect is like that with halogen osram, except that money is more about hid.

A modification of the video work flawlessly :))

  • @brad4edat I do not like Halogen lamps. I think you have the 55W about 1500 lumen one but not sure.

They produce a lot of heat and have short life even if are inexpensive.

I used a CREE MC-E in this video supplied with about 6 to 7W.

I will suspect with that halogen you get about 5 to 10 lumen out of your projector since is hard to collimate the light from a halogen lamp.

  • @electrodacus Here's how I've done to me, I tried with halogen bulb and today I put the car and xenon. From cheapest HIDs for experience. I use the original reflector of the projector.

Here is a link for the pictures, just fix it in your browser to - bradchedat.snimka.bg/experiment/lcd-dlp-projector-lamp-hack-mode-fix-hp-vp6111.650633.26230709

  • @brad4edat I think the first projected images 13 to 16 are with the original 250W UHP lamp. The last images 34 to 36 are quite low output is hard to judge from the photos but I will say no more than a few lumen probably under 5 lumen since photo is made at ISO800.

You can get better output even with a 3W LED and one or two condenser lens and also less heat and longer life.

  • @electrodacus Pictures of 13-16 were made by Osram cool blue H1 powered 13.10v.

I'll announces a diode with a very small area of the matrix - cree xml led, perhaps.

I'll think more these days, these diodes want special power, but the lens and the LED will require a special stand. I do not know if there will be enough space for diodes, lenses and radiator cooling.

  • @brad4edat What was then used on photos 34 to 36?

At the moment the best LED available is the CREE XM-L 2x2mm die up to 1000lumen.

Space for the LED assembly can be a problem not sure how much space you have inside the projector.

  • @electrodacus

    34-36 is hid xenon 35w 3200lumens 5000kelvins

13-16 osram cool blue h1 with 13.10v supply, BUT thish pictures are influenced by the camera flash and not very real.

Xenon and halogen light almost equally bright.

    Pictures deceive.

  • @scuba60056 PART2: The LED's I used where at about 6 to 7W probably about 500 to 600 lumen output from the LED and the projector output was about 25 lumen.

That is as good as you can expect no more than 40 to 50 lumen out of projector from 1000lumen 10W CREE XML LED.

You can not use large power LED because of the die size and multiple LED's will be hard to get in that small place also the lens take some space.

About color temperature I find best to be 5000 to 7000 Kelvin.

  • @scuba60056 PART1: I used the LED that where available at the time see description on the first part of this video SSC-P7 on the Telex projector and on this Toshiba I used the CREE MC-E.

I recommend the CREE XML is about 10$ on eBay no other LED will work better is a 10W LED with 1000 lumen output and a 2x2mm die size this is important no larger size will work since you will not be able to collect the light and get that under plus minus 3 degree.
