A heavy snow storm crossed North Carolina from about noon the 24th through noon the 25th setting records along the way. It was the heaviest snowfall i have ever seen. At my house we had 24" that's 24" in 24 hours. Although we were one of the hardest hit areas, there were some who received even more snow

  • It was amazing. I was 12 years old at the time. Time of my life. Out of school an entire week. close to 2 feet of snow. Man that was a great week!

  • Man it was like a "Snow Hurricane", remember it well, like it was yesterday...

  • I remember this like yesterday. We live in High Point NC, and the snow didn't start till about 7pm that night and didnt stop until about 8am or so the next morning. We received 22" at my house, JUST OVERNIGHT. It was thunder snowing that night to. Pretty awesome to experience it! Hope we get another one like this again!

  • I lived just south and east of raleigh in cary at that time...and man was it just incredible. I went to bed with the mets on WRAL only predicting 1-3 inches of snow, and woke up the next morning with 20+. I had just moved from florida, and this was the first time I had ever seen snow. We ended up getting 28 inches in my area (second most recorded-some small town a few miles away got 31!!!). School was out for almost 2 weeks - the temp dropped to 0 that night at my house....I will never forget it

  • This was one of the greatest snowstorms I have ever experienced. At the time, I lived in the pocket of Raleigh, NC that received 24" (2 feet!) of snow in less than 24 hours.

  • i remember this storm like it was yesterday. I lived in Charlotte, NC and we were out of school for over a week. On my side of town we received a foot and that was on top of several inches that fell a couple days earlier. We then got an ice storm a week later. What was weird about this storm is that the southeastern half of the city was pounded while the northwestern half only saw a few inches. I guess Charlotte was on the edge of the heavy snow, you can see that on the radar. Thanks for posting
