Skills development in todays globalized world requires effective social partnerships. Governments need to work with workers and employers to develop win-win strategies that improve the skills of workers, increase the productivity of enterprises, and improve national competitiveness. This session will examine the roles and responsibilities of the public and private sectors in skills development, various types of partnerships among stakeholders, national policies to create effective partnerships, and good practices of labor-management cooperation for skills development.
