Strider Brutality - Test

A test using outputs in Garry's mod to get Half Life 2 NPC's to interact with each other. Reuploaded for better quality.

Here is an extremely crude tutorial to get the Strider to shoot its big gun:

You need the developer console enabled:
options - keyboard - advanced - enable developer console

Open the console while in game and type
give npc_strider
and press enter to spawn a Strider.

Type
ent_setname whatever
while aiming at the Strider to name it "whatever".

Type
ent_setname gonnadie
while aiming at the thing you want the strider to target to name this target "gonnadie".

Type
ent_fire whatever setcannontarget gonnadie
to tell the Strider to blast the target with its big gun.

Alternatively, you don't have to name everything. You can replace names with
!picker
which will refer to whatever you're currently aiming at. So typing
ent_fire !picker setcannontarget gonnadie
while aiming at the strider should have the same effect. To have the Strider target a player, use !player.

Again, this is extremely crude and doesn't even scratch the surface of what can be done using the ent_fire command. For more information I recommend:
