Are you from Nihon? Man or Woman? What does Chanchankun mean? I'm 3rd generation Japanese-American (Sansei) so my Nihongo is very poor, but I know what "Monkutare" means, because my mother used to call me that when I was very young and complained too much! Aloha, Arnold

chanchankun mean nothing special but "chan" mean like girl version of Ms sort of..we put "chan " after our nickname. "kun" is boys version of Mr.

Actually your explanation is very good! Wakarimashita!!! That is what I thought. My middle name is Kunio. But I thought "chan' is used for both young boys and girls? My family used to call me Kunio-chan when I was a little boy (since I was the youngest of 7children). We had a big family.
