  • This might just be the greatest video on Youtube.

  • Does anyone know who did the music for the schools slide and the countdown?

  • Just how I remember schools and colleges programmes. Jeez!

  • weird! i stayed at a friends for only 2 weeks at southend on sea in1981 and this tune has stayed with me ever since!!

  • This timetable applies except on Tuesdays due to IBA Engineering Announcements which would be shown, in which case this rundown would apply:

    9.27/02 IBA ETP-1 fades out

    9.27/02-9.28 Black roster

    9.28 Thames/IBA slide start-up and music

9.32/59 Thames logo slide fades out

    9.33 Schools slide shown

  • So, the timing sequence of events:

    9.22/02 IBA ETP-1 fades out

    9.22/02-9.23 Black roster

    9.23 Thames/IBA slide start-up and music

9.27/59 Thames logo slide fades out

    9.28 Schools slide is shown

  • When I saw the schools countdown clock, it felt like I stayed home from school that day so mum could look after you. Beautiful, brings a tear to the eye.

  • Can you get this on cd

  • The start up theme is of course Perpetuum Mobile, It was widely heard in these parts and no doubt the Midlands too in the 60's when ABC operated the weekend licences there. ABC of course sort of 'became' Thames when it was forced to merge with Rediffusion but ABC were very much in charge, hence the presentation.

  • Class start-up and good quality too, the good ole days of morning tv. Superb suff buddy.
