Boards of Canada BOCUMA / ROYGBIV [Cryonaut Extended Cover]

I absolutely love BOC's piece, but always hated that it was so short. I thought it might be a nice little project to create an extended arrangement so that this beautiful composition didn't have to end so soon. I tried to stay faithful to the mood of the original while still expanding on the melodies a bit more. This was composed, recorded and edited entirely on a MacBook Pro using Logic Studio - no samples, just great virtual synths and beats. Hope you like it!

Notes are wrong in Bocuma, but I like it.

@sniperzero1 Actually, the change in the Bocuma melody to a major scale was intentional to fit with the accompanying bass line that later re-occurs in the Roygbiv bridge. Guess I was stretching my artistic license. Glad you like it anyway :)

i just had to post again how amazing this piece is. i am truly a fan sir. this song gave me chlls when i heard it because i am a super fan of this BoC track. definitely post more of your work. you are building a small base here.. who needs major labels these days?? no body. youtube, crackbook, are all you need to buzz your works. also setup a crackbook page and ill spread the love when you get material put up. bravo work sir bravo!!!!

I like this a lot. I was born a little late to feel the full effect of this album (namely the nostalgia), yet this version feels sort of updated, with a slightly more modern feel that is closer to the sounds of my childhood.

Lovely! This is really good. Have you heard the BoC "Alphaquest" remix of ROYGBIV? It also combines Bocuma, like what you've done, as well as a very brief vocal bridge about midway through the latter song.
