This slideshow features images of Sanssouci in Potsdam Germany where J. S. Bach met Frederick the Great and was given a theme by the King. This royal theme was formed into sixteen different pieces/movements, and this show features "Canon 1. a 2 cancrizans," "Canon 2. a 2 Violini in unisono" and "Canon 8. Canon perpetuus" and was dedicated to the King "with humblest submission" on 7 July 1747 as a Musical Offering.
