Tennessee Waltz sung by Eva Cassidy. This is another example of Eva's versatility in singing all genres of songs. This is a well known country song sung by many artists. I love how she belts out this song beautifully and confidently without over singing it.

This was recorded at Chris Biondo's, Eva's boyfriend, studio in Glendale, MD in 1996.
Eva is singing alone with her solo guitar.

  • We are all born with gifts, some are born with superlative gifts, but few if ever are gifted to transcend all into the private space of iconic. She resides there.

  • She could do anything w/ her voice that she wanted. She left the world, but fortunately for the rest of us, she left her extraordinary musical gifts behind for us to appreciate.

  • Just listened to the late Eva singing Danny Boy--Tennesse Waltz is fab. RIP. xx

  • She always touches the spirit

  • i love her voice - and i only wish more people knew of her, and appreciated the gift that she had! i am her champion now!

  • for such a great singer and young lassies to go so early its our problem not to here her again.beautiful voice.

  • How is it possible that every song I have heard her do is better than any version I've heard before?

  • I wonder if there has ever been a more beautiful human voice. If there has, I haven't heard it.

  • I was casually listening to music videos and clicked on this one, not knowing who Eva Cassidy was. This is an excellent, beautiful version of that melancholy song. Wow, the phrasing and voice! Then I found out this wonderful singer is gone and passed at such an early age! very sad.

  • @dancgear She certainly had stellar phrasing that nobody else had, but you can't not mention people like Ella, Billie and Louis, the people who wrote the book on phrasing that Eva drew from. Then you have people like Aretha and Elvis. I would think they were all contemporary singers with at least equally magnificent phrasing.

  • Just an amazing singer, one of my mom and dad's favorite songs. Wow can she bring back memories!
