More than 500 million people in Africa have no access to electricity. The Freeplay Foundation provides wind-up and solar-powered lights to the poorest of the poor -- orphaned children in Rwanda. Meet the children that require a light in their lives.
Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks and the Lemelson Foundation funded Freeplay Foundation's development of the Lifelights, which aims to provide clean, safe light to the poorest and most vulnerable in Africa.
If my small contribution can light up just one of the lives of the people featured in your video, I will die a happy man. I thank you and pray that the light emanating from you and your foundation shines on us all and that you reach the hearts and minds of those ready to care.

Thanks to your relentless efforts in highlighting their plight - the FUTURE of youth in rural areas can be changed by this simple light. May you get all the donations you need to continue making a difference.

I never thought about African children and orphans after dark before. This is a great effort to inform and sensitize the public. If Tom Hanks supports them so can I!
