No way. A young Ali was one of the quickest fighters ever. He would dance and keep tyson at bay all day long with that jab. Tyson was an inside fighter but could never work his way inside as good a Frazier. Tyson had quicker handspeed than Frazier easily and far more power but was not as relentless. You have to be working your way inside constantly hoping to wear down Alis arms and praying to land that one shot.

Tyson was also easy to tie up inside. He wasn't trained in forcing the other guy to fight him on the inside like Frazier was. He could brawl on the inside if you volunteered to do it with him, but he did not know how to force a fight on the inside, it wasn't his style.

He would be stuck with trying to outspeed Ali as he came in from the outside, and given his 10 inch reach disadvantage, and on top of that Ali's speed and reflexes, it just wouldn't work, it would be a joke.

The 1966 Ali dominates Tyson in any era.

Tyson couldn't even KO third rate Ali wannabes like Tillis and Tucker, how is he going to KO Ali? If it goes to a decision, we all know Ali takes that. Tyson slowed down after about R 6 while Ali didn't. Also Tyson was not an inside brawler like Frazier, the peekaboo style uses speed to try to catch the guy as you move from the outside. a stout, short armed fighter trying to outspeed Ali as he moves in from the outside is a joke

  • @Stevetheperformer 3 Things that Ali used to intimidate other boxers- It wouldn't work on Norton.

  • @revelation6415 Probably not, even though Norton is only a year and a half younger than Ali. A young Ali has to be the fastest heavyweight of all time. I have to admit, I have all three Norton- Ali fights on video and Norton's speed seemed unreal in the first fight- Ali seemed much slower, and unsure what to do. I think part of it was Norton got into Ali's head- which was extremely rare for someone to do. Ali actually admired Norton. Norton was "pretty, smart, and fast (Cont.)

  • At least Mayweather has sense, Ali all the way

  • @periechontology Good Point

  • @Stevetheperformer Good point and what you say is true but knowone could tell me Norton would out speed a prime Ali

  • @revelation6415 No doubt Ali was the better fighter, but even Ali admitted that Norton was beating him to the punch, that he felt slower than Norton, but as always, Ali was smart- he knew how to get points. He would loose most of the round then rally in the closing seconds to make it look like he was in control- especially head shots. In the Ali- Frazier fights, Frazier woul land more punches but they were mostly body shots- Ali's were head shots, so Frazier was marked, Ali clean

  • @Stevetheperformer No i disagree Ali won the third but it was very close

  • @chromeheart65 Muhammad Ali minus Dundee is still the same Muhammad Ali. Dundee didn't train Ali the way you think he did, he didn't have to keep Ali focussed. All Dundee had to do is go with the flow, and be a good cornerman. He said it himself. Tyson would get his ass handed to him if he fought Ali in 1967. The only man Tyson beat was grandaddy Holmes who was about 246 years and was 9 months pregnant.
