It is believed that this is the largest working pipe-organ in a church.

  • But that organs aren't as beautifull as the organ in Passau........

  • @Eldonstromberg1 Yes, but you have to understand- with today's church- regardless of pipe organ or guitar- all churches are nothing more than performance halls. The only thing missing is you don't have to buy tickets. I don't agree with Catholicism at all, but I equally have a problem with other denominations in general...

The church today has been reduced to nothing but an entertainment and activity centre...

    Regards, Nigel

  • It's nice you people worship a pipe organ, I like that. I suggest a Catholic Church where Christ is actually present as we worship Jesus Christ and NOT Martin Luther. Thenk yew.

  • lovely and very well presented.

  • @2468HOTROD : Point taken. The full organ (God help us!) is too big for St. Peter's in Rome. But gorgeously voiced. And the Gigout was the perfect demo piece. Credit to the organist - he played it flawlessly. But I would have liked to hear it without the commentary.

  • @sk8er1979 : The organ is tuned constantly - several days a week - year in and year out. It is the only way with an instrument of this magnitude.

  • @moller11739 : And tonally, the West Point instrument is the best of the three, IMHO.

  • Did anyone notice that the organist is really quite good? Why all the jabber during such a performance?

  • Maby the greatest yet, but i think not the beautifullest of the biggest...

I think Passau is MORE beautifull than that.

    Maby not bigger, but nicer......
