bluegrass is sung with your natural voice..it cant be faked at all...you cant really train yourself to sing it, trust me im from ky and i have that ( hill slang) lol. not trying to be an ass or anything but listen to jimmy martin talk in a video..then listen to him sing its pretty much the same voice.

Wow. Singing's not easy, and I applaud your energy and willingness to help people, but you're way off the mark. Have you ever taken voice lessons?

Hey he didn't say scratchy as far as I heard and its true that nasal tone DOES blend very well and MANY bluegrass singers are quite a bit more nasal than pop singers. Listen to Dan Tyminski singing Man of constant sorrow for example. That is of course the extremity but its true. I personally found this clip to be helpful.

I mean no offense, but your Description & example of Bluegrass singing is far from accurate.Actually,Bluegrass singers don't sing nasally, nor scratchy, they sing high pitched, hence the title"High lonesome sound".Further more, they harmonize,so what you are hearing is the tenor singer. If you like to make reference to do some research, check out to Ralph Stanley,Ralph Stanley II,Ernie Thacker,Blue Highway,Dan Tyminski,Tony Rice. You will find that your description and example are incredibly incorrect.
