Photoshop tutorial - Orbs

Just a quick tutorial to make an orb in photoshop CS4.

NOTES:

1: Image size is: 256*256 pixel with transparent background
2: Need 2 layers
3: One has orb base circle (try to line up with squares for ease of selection later)
4: Second is the reflection layer (bigger than the orb base and offset a tad)
5: Gradient packs are available for download, a very good one is this:

6: On the orb layer you need: Bevel and emboss (soften and size way up), Gradient overlay, inner shadow (or glow based on preference), drop shadow (or glow based on preference).

7: Double click on the layer name to bring up the layer blending dialog

8: Use the layer mask on the top reflection layer to hide unwanted pixels off of the orb.

9: I need a better microphone!!

cool vid..so i have a question.

whenever i save a pic for the web in photoshop, i dont have a background color since i want there to be no background but it keeps making it a solid white background!!?? why does it do this? im making a play button but i cant use it if the background is colored.

@BonezProductionz Hey man, did you save it as a PNG? Because from memory they can have transparancy. Also did you delete the background layer in photoshop before saving?
