On the show this week we have vocalist Alison Ruble and her Quartet. Alison Ruble and her quartet perform music from her latest release This is A Bird and also from her upcoming release Ashland. Alison talks with Mike about how she got started in music, who has inspired her to continue in Jazz, her weekly performances at Andys on Wednesdays and also her upcoming video shoot at the Jazz showcase March 30th.
The Alison Ruble Quartet features Alison Ruble(vocals), Jo Ann Daugherty(piano), Bryan Doherty(bass) and Tim Davis(drums).
Also on the show Mike and Charley are join in studio by Ernest Dawkins and Steve Berry. Ernest and Steve both perform with numerous groups which have traveled throughout the world and have helped to expand the limits and reach of Chicago Jazz. They also both started an organization entitled Chicago Creative Arts Online and have put together the second annual Blackout Festival a Tribute to Fred Anderson at the Velvet Lounge March 20th.
Vocalist Ava Logan also calls in to talk about her upcoming show entitled Lena Horne & Friends at the Skokie Theatre March 20th.
