The Webb Space Telescope's giant primary mirror, arguably its most critical and difficult part, is approaching completion. The 18-segment mirror stands two stories high and is designed to best capture the infrared light Webb seeks. @L0CH4N4 Congress has MUCH better things to spend tax payers money on. you know, things like welfare for those who don't need it, bailouts for banks etc. I think that it's naive to limit humans to thinking we're all that's in this vast universe, but it's not their call to say that, theyre just scared it may not be true.

I can't wait to see what this bad boy can do! I'd like to see a more detailed explanation of the technology and procedures involved in building the Webb. It should get its own episode of "How It's Made" or something.

I just hope they don't cancel it downright; it's already facing cancellation by the Congress. Why can't they cut down on war costs and save some money for the whole humankind?
