  • Funny that you would insult Welmer's weight in comparison to the NBA's officials where all integrity was lost a few years ago because of Tim Donaghy. And where does he mention anything about guessing? Also, when it comes to calling the obvious...calling the obvious is a lot easier in high school and junior high but in high profile div 1 games, you gotta get the nutcutters right to keep a job. Anyway, you can have the NBA refs and the travesty of a sport the NBA is, I'll take Welmer everyday.

  • This guy is a bozo--typical of a lot of college refs. First of all there is no guessing allowed in officiating. What does he mean when he says 90% correct or 150% correct? The philosophy should be simple: Call the obvious and do not guess. Be in position to completely cover your primary area. This might be difficult for Mr. Welmer as he is clearly out of shape--something not often seen among the professional ranks.
