A very ignorant comment! If you walked around Soho would you expect a true experience of London? Would it be sweet and beautiful? NO!
If you go again look beyond Bangla Road of Patong (red light).
Phuket is a wonderful place, as is Thailand as a whole.

OOOHHH! I miss Phuket Thailand sooo much! I love it there! I was there for 5 days and just arrived back to Taiwan yesterday night. Phuket is such a beautiful paradise, where I can get accomodation and everything cheap. Also a lot of beautiful women (real women not ladyboys). I will be working in Japan starting 8/31 and I won't be able to go back to Phuket until August 2012. I love Phuket way better than Jamaica.
