This initial segment of the film Out On A Limb was shot in Humboldt County at Richardson Grove State Park, where CalTrans plans on cutting the root system of 60 giant old-growth redwood trees to widen the roadway for bigger trucks and more traffic. Jack, our intrepid protagonist, has some brushes with the park rangers in the process of attempting his TreeSpirit Project photograph to bring attention to the plight of these irreplaceable trees.
