  • To me Fassbinder was/is Germany's (and one of Europe's) greatest film maker after WWII. What he did with his films for the people of post World War II Germany with regards to laying bare the very sinews, the pain and frustration in individuals and in society is of the highest order. It is a shame that his masterpieces are rarely if ever shown on (German) television nowadays!
