love mazda 3's. i like the 2010 model, but i went with the 2008 because it has better ratings over all from all the years and has the highest safety scores still.

The Mazdaspeed 3 uses an entirely different engine; it uses the 2.3L DISI MZR engine found in the Mazdaspeed 6 and CX-7. The Speed3 engine has different rods, pistons, head, valves/springs, intake manifold (direct injection), ECU, block, and crank shaft. It is built with forced induction in mind, unlike the naturally aspirated 2.3L MZR engine that comes on the Mazda 3. Where are you getting YOUR facts?

i didn't say at the wheels. and the speed 3 comes turboed and the motor doesn't blow in one day, don't know where your getting your facts..

At the wheels? I'd love to see a dyno sheet on that. On Mazda3forums, 2.3's with the CP-E standback, header, intake, cat delete, and dyno tune are only running 165 whp on a DynoDynamics dyno.

Also, the internals are far from great. Slap a turbo on it and pop your motor all in the same day. Lean spike? Pop your motor. Boost surge? Pop your motor. Good tune? Shred third gear AND pop your motor.

I love the Mazda 3, but it has its shortcomings and it is far from quick.
