Anyone who has seen a rabbit affected with fly strike has no wish to see another. Yet in summertime many vets see at least one or two every week. For that reason, we are dedicating 2 podcasts to that dreadful disease. In this first one, we are going to explain what fly strike and what can be done about it.

    Damn you nature!!

Its awful to see and its a hell for the bunny:(

it was just in 1 day, and we didnt notice or even see it, and after the night..its just horrible!:(

    RIP:(

  • @Bunomous yes but it's less common. for your sake i advise you not to look at youtube videos showing it.

  • My rabbits are both almost two years old, and they are doing fine! But They are being spayed in 3 days and I'm worried about what could go wrong. D:

  • I had a rabbit about 4/5 year ago who has this, I'd never even heard off it. Sadly it got bad to the fact the was sort off limping and falling and stuff....When the vet told me what it was i was confused cus id never heard off it before! Wish i'd known earlier.

  • my house rabbit died friday morning from fly strike, he did go outside also, but in summer flies come inside and incubate easier, because of food etc. I even checked him 3 days previous, its something that rabbits frequently get, i wish i couldve done more to save my boy but couldnt!!

  • When the larvae eat away at the flesh does it leave open wounds? Or do they just bore through cleanly without causing any bleeding?

  • how do they get it? just by going outside? can cats get it?

  • Oh my gosh ... this video was ON SPOT

It is exactly what my doe has... thank you soooo much!
