This is a spectacular (non-jato) high-performance takeoff of the USMC's Blue Angels support plane, a C-130T Hercules affectionately known as "Fat Albert". This is known as the low-transition/maximum effort climb maneuver. The crew spools up the engines and releases the brakes to start the takeoff roll. The pilot flying lifts the plane off the ground and accelerates in ground effect while the gear is retracted. The aircraft is held two to five feet off the ground until its speed reaches nearly 200 mph. Then the plane is angle up into a 45 degree maximum performance climb to about 1200ft AGL. Amazing stuff!

Filmed at boeing field in seattle on 31 july 2009.
