Linuxmint 7 'gloria'...a superduper os,thats why it so popular..

a look at Linux mint 7 Gloria,another outing from the Ubuntu based distro but some say is a lot easier to live with,and some of my Linux clients would agree,as its so easy to use for the average joe or jill.

Last time I saw mint, it was on a laptop owned by some dude in front of me in lectures. The only reason I remembered it is because I was watching it take 5-10 minutes to boot. It was horrendous and would never recommend mint for that reason.

well all i can say is that it must have been a bad install,boot should be around 60 sec,but will also depend on the specs of laptop..

I got Mint runnin right now on my laptop, love it! this should be number one on distrowatch :)

I'm definitely a distro hopper but the last couple of times I tried Mint (v4 and now 7) they've stayed on my machine longer than most distros. I might just stay with 7 for the long term. The most obvious question people ask is "Why don't you just run Ubuntu/Debian?" Hard to explain. Poking around and configuring can be fun but sometimes you just want it to work. Mint works very well and is nice and polished. Thanks for the vids sneeky. Yours are some of the best Linux related vids on YouTube.

Could be, but his laptop looked fairly new and it was a multimedia laptop which tend to have higher specs that mainstream. The only thing I thought that could be wrong was that he was getting a ton of network timeouts. I dunno.

I agree, I have not been as impressed with an all working out of the box modern distro since PCLinuxOS 2007, very smooth and easy.
