How To Win At FIFA 08 - Effective Time Wasting

Towards the end of a game that you're winning (or drawing), if you want to really annoy your opponent, even demoralise them, why not time-waste?

With FIFA, the temptation is to try and score another goal but something that is just
as satisfying is taking the ball into the corner to waste time.

The great thing is, the more you practice this, the more effective it will be. In fact,
it will be nearly impossible for your opponent to win the ball.

Just take your player into the corner and press R2 (PS3) or RT (xbox360) to trap the ball and wait for your opponent to try and challenge you. The trick is to get as close to the touch line as possible.

With your player holding your opponent off, you will end up either winning a corner, throw-in or, more likely, a free kick (especially when your opponent loses their discipline).

on this once i was 2-0 down on UNRANKED matched someone who was 50000 score better i passed it around at the back bored him and got the win thats one extra less to get any acheivement

its the R2 button for the ps3 u just press it without moving and you have to give your back to the opponet for it to work

When my keeper has the ball goto the the back corner of the box wait for 6-7 seconds press Y to drop the balls and just wait til the players come and then just hit it up the field!

im pretty sure you dont have to press anything to make him guard it they do it automatically. on ps3 L1 stops the ball but whenever you press L1 you automatically face towards the opponents goal. I may be wrong though as I don't have it on PS2. But yes L1 does make you stand still as does R2 (yes i know its the sprint button but if you press it without directional buttons then you stand still)
