  • It looks like wood nettle to me but that's kind of a silly nit-pick. Your way of smashing it up seems to be much more effective than how I've done it in the past. Thanks for the vid

  • It very well could be Wood Nettle. I have always heard it called stinging nettle in these parts. I had another guy ask that same question on Bushcraft USA.

  • I'm not sure what was more distracting, the chewing gum or the mosquito.

  • you can remove the stingers easily--just run it thru your hands a few times while wearing gloves or holding a piece of cloth or leather

  • nice video. just spit out your gum next time--for some like me it's distracting like nails on a chalk board
