  • Who cares? What does it have to do with their victory in this series? Let me guess- you a rangers fan? Penguins? Not withstanding you won't be able to take away what the Isles accomplished in this series no matter what negative SPIN you(...TRY to)put on it. Hockey fans, particularly Isles fans, will turn it back on you every time.

Besides-it was Montreal's year! Go HABS!

    Can you say HA-BI-TANT????

  • I just sat back over lunch enjoying these... What can I say that isn't already shown in your videos? Yeah it's been hell since`93 and Buttman's too rapid of an expansion watering down all the offense into this silly game they play now. However because of the Hall of Fame and YOU TUBE(fans like you as well)the Islanders legacy will never, EVER, be forgotten.

We still love'em win or lose!!!!

  • @Qsafm5 "Volek shoots, SCORES! DAVID VOLEK! ISLANDERS! And there'll be a NEW Stanley Champion in 1993!" :-D

  • @Beginstheman Yeah, the Islanders, Habs, Leafs, & LA Kings all finished 3rd in their respective divisions in the regular season, & yet, they made up the Final 4 teams that year! Crazy! As a Leaf fan, it was the 1st time in ages that we had a great playoff run to remember, but same goes for the Isles, Kings, & Habs that year as well....

  • @ckendall67 OOPS, my bad, 21-1-1 for Pittsburgh, sorry. But what odds, it was still a tremendous upset by the Isles nontheless :-)

  • @landrykkb Yeah, the Pens won a league-record 17 straight games( STILL a record to this day )& then tied New Jersey in their final regular season game. Then they beat the Devils in 5 in the 1st round, meaning they entered the series vs the Isles on a 22-0-1 run! :-O The Pens looked unstoppable, everyone expected they'd win their 3rd straight Stanley Cup, & then...the Isles shocked them in Game 7! :-O :-)

  • @Beginstheman Yeah, you Habs fans must've thought for sure the Habs would play Pittsburgh in the conference final in '93, but after Volek scored that goal, the Pens, the Cup favourites, were OUT, & the Stanley Cup was up for grabs! Instead of playing the powerful Pens, it was the Habs vs the upstart Isles, 2 suprise teams in the conference final that year. :-O :-)

  • I watch this and still cannot believe the Isles won against the defending Cup champs. The Penguins were perhaps as close as you could get from an unbeatable team in 1993, and that the Isles managed to win in OT in Pittsburgh was simply unreal. I'm not an Isle fans, but in respect to the great dynasty of the early 1980s, I hope they'll rise once again.

  • @TheLoserSakaTheOiler Absolutely nothing similar about the situations. The 2010 Pens squad wasn't one of the greatest lineups ever assembled on ice. Nor did it blow through the regular season for a franchise record in points a year after winning it's second straight cup. Habs had WAY more of a chance on paper than this particular Isles team did. This is sincerely one of the greatest playoff upsets in the history of the NHL. Thanks Volek you dick!

  • @Hobkev25 no stevens tried to hit him

  • Old school announcers call it right. The current Pittsburgh announcers would have said Pilon hit Stevens with a high hit and should be suspended. How times have changed!

  • @mickreally what a great game it was and a happy ending for the Isles from N.Y i thought back in 1993 the boys are back in town and a new Era of the Islanders would begin Al Arbour had a really good though smart team together back then.but montreal was a bit to powerful for the Isles in the conference finals.scotty bowman and Al Arbour two of the greatest Hockey Wiseman ever coached a hockey team
