My name is Amar. Grandma told me I am Rama's reflection (Rama | Amar). This was played at my uncle's funeral. He named me the day I was born. This made me cry uncontrollably. I don't why I want to share this, but here it goes...
Om Shanti Om
Hare Sita Hare Rama

I am not Indian either. Was raised Christian but I'm finding peace of mind and encouragement from Hinduism. I'm drawn to Vaishavism, but Saraswati Maa is my inspiration for music (guitar and bass). I may visit a Hindu temple soon.

@tamurthDZ - Namaskar! To answer you question: Shree Raam was born to Raja Dasrath in Ayodhya and this took place way before Christ and Allah came to this world. Ayodhya is in India (then Bharat Desh) hence he look and colour and the way he dresses. King Dasrat in his earlier life was Manu, the first Man, and he prayed to Lord Vishnu to have a son like him. Lord Vishnu re-incarnated as Dasrath's son.
Hinduism is for everyone. A Hindu is considered as one that is Pained at another's suffering.
