The Jacksonville, Oregon Song by Jewel - June 26, 2010 - Britt Pavilion
Gold was discovered in these hills
And with the gold came the trains
And when the gold was all carried out
Everyone moved out, out of Jacksonville
The Chinese left only broken glass in the dirt
And the buildings stood like empty sentinels
But thanks to Britt's photographs
The buildings got their beauty back, back in Jacksonville
At the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains
An old West town is living still
Immortalized in black and white
It's the town of Jacksonville, Oregon
The Museum and the Beekman House
The Britt Gardens and the Festival
Immortalized now in song
And living history carries on, carries on in Jacksonville
At the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains
An old West town is living still
Immortalized in black and white
It's the town of Jacksonville, Oregon
And I'm glad to lend my song
And when you all sing along
Know that we are all just one small piece of history
At the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains
An old West town is living still
Immortalized in black and white
It's the town of Jacksonville
Yeah, Jacksonville, Oregon.

That concert was amazing, as always! Love when Jewel comes to Jacksonville. This song is adorable. I was going to post this song up, but you beat me to it. :) I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.
