  • K just wondering, if you're using the knife for self defence why do you attack first? What if they pull their gun and point first? Oh dang.

  • @bangurhead49712 Conversely, he knows the guy is coming. If you don't know he's coming, even cocked and locked, you're behind the curve. Observation, Orientation, Decision and Action aren't instantaneous.

  • reasons why these guys in the video are wrong:

    1. if you have a gun and it's cocked and ready to go (YOU PROBABLY WOULD), you would win (duh) 2. if you have a knife, then you would HESITATE to run at him (duh again) 3. if you have a knife and you hesitate, GUESS WHAT, BANG!

  • Knives rock

  • iss this in the philippines

  • @mistergrin Your welcome! And thanks to marcosfenrir for posting this video, it's a very interesting issue to discuss in this days!

  • @solnegrolunaroja Thanks for the info! It was very informative.

  • @mistergrin Good question. I think both are relatively big, but I don't know how much. The 9 mm. Beretta has a double column magazine, usually 15 rounds, that makes it a big pistol regardless the caliber. M1911 has a single column magazine, but .45 rounds are bigger. I know Colts, but I haven't handled a Beretta (yet). Seems I have homework to do! :)

  • @solnegrolunaroja I've never carried an M9 before, but from what I've heard from people that it's bigger than the 1911?

  • @mistergrin I always ask myself why they didn't just updated the gun, the mechanism is still valid, simple and robust, cost efficient. Civilians has reasons to use other guns, the 1911 is a big gun, but the military don't have any problem about carrying it. Politics, perhaps!

  • @solnegrolunaroja Tell me about it man. I don't know why different branches of the U.S. military replaced the M1911 with the Beretta as its standard sidearm.

  • @mistergrin Yes, between US military and other corps, they have some freedom of choice. In the 80's, many military used Glocks because they were the most advanced of the time, but nowadays there are more options, more fit to military needs, whatever they are. And even Glock has adapted some models to fit this specific needs. It's interesting to know the other branches uses the M1911 also. It's amazing that a 100 year old gun is still so fit!
