The Oaks won a Grammy in 1976 for their rendition of this song, recorded on their "Old Fashioned, Down Home, Hand Clappin, Foot Stompin, Southern Style, Gospel Quartet Music" LP on Columbia Records.

This rendition, a favorite among fans, is from a November 1996 appearance on "Prime Time Country" (the same year of William Lee Golden's return).
