  • @acerza89 Hmmm interesting interpretation.. I always thought the song was a reaction against the emergence of rudeboy culture in Jamaica back in the late '60s - early '70s. The cricket story sounds amazing, have you seen Fire Ina Babylon documentary?

  • Ratchet = hatchet

  • @ Ceejay. Me too. It depends on what tempo moves you with most reggae and also sometimes which Version you heard 1st. Happens to me all the time. I like the "Harder they Come" version better as well. But I can still skank my ass to this too! Just with a redstripe and spliff rather than than insta-skank as sometimes upbeat tempos' tend to do. Nice Post DiGigantis!

  • @acerza89 do you mean ratchet= pistol think it is ratchet= knife

  • ratchet for pistol, im not impressed with this censorship, omg this original song is suppose to represent the oppression of the west indian people on the seventies. i heard this when the mighty west indies cricket team destroyed their oppersors in england, amazing

  • i like it, takes a little getting used to
