First of all, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that you (the audience) can't hear anything that isn't being said into or near a microphone... So, there are only the moderators, candidate's, and the producer's microphones available. That leaves (1) something whispered near the moderator's mic, (2) another candidate mumbling something, or (3) a producer whispering near a hot mic. Oh, by the way, Romney's only been saying "I won't raise taxes" since 1992.
