When i was there a few weeks ago the so called locals were walking right at the edge of the water catching fish and selling them on the road...4 are killed every year.its not the fault of the croc or tour guides.stop walking at the edge of murkey water damb ass....

how can we "lighten up" when this issue affects us profoundly?
we enter the water on a daily basis and would like to remain as safe as possible. Last year there were a series of attacks on surfers, so no, I cannot lighten up!

@jaimetienegoma For real lighten up, I live here and I surf. This river is no where near the surf.. Its a job creator and a tourist attraction, without tourism Costa Rica would still be in the "Stone Age". With your attitude you should boycott every Zoo on the planet, if you cant get people excited about the wild life they'll turn these wonderful animals into shoes or ... there next meal... let the people work and mind your business.... thanks jaime has a hangover

BOYCOTT this business when visiting JACO. The locals shun this business because it obviously disrupts the NATURAL behavior of these crocs and puts lives in danger. This is a deadly game he is playing; where will this croc go for its next meal when this guy isn't around? He might go looking for someone with a fish/chicken in hand and when the food is not readily supplied, the croc will more than likely take your leg/live instead. THINK ABOUT IT
