I know the moana loader is existing about a year and this isn't really new. A month ago i found the first infos about it and i had to try it my self ;-)

  • I really don't see the excitement in "new" Amiga OS. Either keep it retro or make it a competitiv OS. This is neither. Amiga was great (well, it was incredible in fact) back in the days, but this is like a 60 year old trying too hard to be a youth.

  • @MrKnightbeat

I doubt it will ever be available legally. Even using our copies from other systems does not make sense as important drivers are still lacking ... and I assume they ever will. It doesn't look like anybody is interested in writing proper drivers although there is not much left.

  • Pretty cool, but do we have to put up with the terrible music? what's wrong with just using the sound from the video and having some commentary about how it's done? Seriously why do people use music from their favorite CD/MP3 and use that instead f the videos original audio?

  • 2011 and we're still waiting for a legal way to run Amiga OS4 on Mac Mini

  • @1billthekid

So you want to try to compile the drivers for Audio and Ethernet? Good idea! I wish you luck. Tell us if it works.

  • @flossenzosse Sun Studio contains a C compiler for both x86 and Sparc platforms.

  • @1billthekid

I don't know exactly but as this is modern hardware I expect it to be C source. The Sungem driver should be C source, too. you can have a look when you search for it on the Internet.

  • @flossenzosse Have we any idea what the source was written in? Is it C, assembly, or what?

  • Using the MOS drivers for OS4 would be great if it worked. THere is OS4Emu for MOS and I think there also exist the other way round a MOS emulator for OS4. so it should be possible. Maybe not necessary when the source is available and be compiled for OS4. But can it be compiled that easily from Solaris?

  • if only I could get it to load on a G3 iMac, I'd get my old "snowball" fixed.
