@eplemannen lol sure but they stopped everyone but the rich and religious officials from writing... it's like saying the man who builds a fallout shelter and nukes the world is responsible for saving humanity.

No. The church was responsible for what little writing and art there was at the time.

Wrong. First of all, you're assuming that people were writing more before Christianity came along. Actually, not much was being written at all. Secondly, you're in the wrong era. During most of the Dark Ages, much of Europe was still pagan and the church wasn't as powerful as it became later.
