I delt with this and also depression.When I was in the 8th grade,I was bullied badly and it seriously destroyed me.I was paranoid,had extreeamly low self-esteem(think below below sea level),alone,worthless,ugly,ou­tsider,a MAJOR suicidal person,depression every day,afraid to raise my hand in class,afraid to walk some where,felt like a complete idiot in class,and so much of it I was even afraid to sit there or write.I take meds now(Zoloft)so I'm better^_^now in 11th grade.

i have this but thankfully not as bad as these people. good docu but shame that they say the answer is mainly medication. it is food related for me

I was 17 when my social fear started to get worse. Six years have passed and little has changed. I now even feel sick if I have to talk to someone over the phone, for whatever reason. I feel stupid because I thought I could fight this myself, alone. "It's nothing, just go out to the world and face it. Everyone has stress" I was always told. It only became worse. Still not sure what kind of therapy I need for this thing, but the more time I waste, the more it will consume what's left of my life.

If anyone residing in the UK is suffering from this that would like to have a chat and share their SAD experience I would really like to hear from you. My son is age 20 and we have battled with his SAD alone for the past 6 years. Even family and friends don't understand it and think that my son 'can simply pull himself together'.

We both feel so isolated with this problem . my son is out of education and has no friends. Life is pretty miserable for both of us.

I'm 19 and I think I'm also suffering from this thing. When it comes to grocery shopping or eating its ok but taking a piss in a public restroom at a urinal is hard, and I don't go outside very much, and I barely talk to my friends.
