Footage from the 1962 Duncan National Yo-Yo Contest presented by Bob Rule. Winner was Pat Brown who won $5000. Which would be $35,700 today!

A Special thank you goes to Bob Rule, and the Brown family for filming, and sharing this priceless footage.

  • YEAH! This is EPIC

  • I was just reminiscing about my younger days in the late 60's competing in front of an old Five & Dime store (SS Kresge) at Oakridge Shopping Center in Vancouver. A "Rep" and accomplished "trickster" would hold a weekly contest where there was usually anywhere from 15 to 30 kids participating. We would compete for our 5-10-15-20+ trick badge and I believe after 20 tricks we would be awarded an official Yo-Yo sweater to sew our badges on.

    Great memories... Thanks!

  • It sure is great to see how contests were run in the 1960's. The Duncan demonstrators from those days are truly legends.
