I always think Buddy is such a douche when he talks, but I put up with his opinionated nonsense until he plays a solo. Then I fall in love with him again.

to be honest dude, buddy was just like that, he was a traditionalist. He hated rock music and till he died so no music in it. so he was a little biased towards himself. the man was just angry, because unfortunately by the time he was coming anywhere near making it rock came along and blew his audience away, so he was kinda bitter. He was a virtuoso who never got enough of the spotlight.

Ok correct me if I'm wrong but traditional grip was invented for old military drummers because the sling they used would create the obnoxious slant making traditional grip necessary. So with the ability to have a stand that you can adjust the slant or not have any slant all the time, Buddy is really incorrect in saying that traditional is the "correct way." I'm sorry, he's a phenomenal player but he's not one of my favorites because he just seems like a douche.
