hiphop is still dead and the reason why its dead is because there is these new modern artist who think they can rap when they cant and the music that they do isnt hiphop its pop in my eyes we need to bring back the oldskool artsts krs one are already coming out with new vibes

This is a classic example of how to make an OutKast song, it follows the checklist:
BOTH Dre and Big. Check
Sleepy Brown. Check
Horns. Check
808. Check
Funny interlude thing (at the start). Check
Funky. Check
Hell its even got a sexy [naked] chick. Check

all sorts of rap artists have been saying hip hop is dead since..for a long time now. still, Nas felt it enough by '06 to name an entire album after it.
0:40 - 0:44.. André 3 Thousand says "I'm out here knowing hip hop is dead"... Remember, this wasn't made 3 years ago, this was towards the end of 2000.. So.. Who said that Nas was the first to announce it??

the funny thing is, listening to his lyrics, he actually wrote this between 97-99. I have been listening to Outkast since 93' and I know that Dre changes his style from time to time and this one shows that. Goodie Mob actually touched on it on Still Standing back in 96'
