My full launch of spaceshuttle and MECO, also real cockpit sounds from inside **Columbia's** orbiter. (unfortunatelly the vid. processing has delayed the sound sync for a little bit).

  • how do you view inside the cockpit??? plz reply

  • @TheTomdom666 F1-switching in/outside cockpit view, and in cockpit mode view, F8 switch between hud/2d/3d cockpit mode.

  • Doesn't the shuttle assume a heads-up position before jettisoning the main fuel tank?

  • @Bofarrow2 Yes, this kind of sep. with the main fuel tank above it was used just in the first launches of the Space Shuttle missions.

  • So far, this is my favorite video of a shuttle simulation. The graphics are very clear and sharp. Are there several different versions of this simulator you can buy? But the ET separation took place in a heads down position? And the orbiter was just barely off the coast of America... I'm sorry I'm not trying to nitpick. I was just wondering how the game keeps track of where the Earth is in relation to a real time launch...

  • @bwd81977 Hi, The simulator is free, now is available the 2010 version, also free.

You can find a lot of (free)add-ons on orbithangar site. The head down separation position of Et it vas used only in the first missions of Space Shuttle. Yes, the launch, flight, altitude (MECO in ~8 mins.) are in real time. I am glad you like the video. It's a great spaceflight simulator.

  • @IngoGallacher ok thanks :)

  • @Bofarrow2 Question: When you look at the live video of the astronauts during launch, they do not appear to be affected by being heads down at all. How is that? Aren't they in that position quite a while before weightlessness?

  • wat sim game is this

  • No, Orbiter
