@ADProtty - you clearly have no idea how serious the situation we are facing actually is. If the American and European economies fails to recover, expect things to get a lot worse. Healthcare today is free. Tomorrow it might not be, there might not be enough to go around.
And clearly some of these teachers have been eating too much. All the videos on the left are of the "how to lose weight fast" type. Greedy bastards!
@SatanicScience lol, if you know someone who is a teacher than you'll see that weekends off etc are a myth....that marking and lesson planning doesnt do it self you know! In any case pensions are money that you pay in so its not stopping that money going to anywhere else as it is THEIR money that they are putting in. baby units etc. also should be funded and yes there is only a certain amount of money to go around - its just most of it is hoarded by a few thousand rich people.
"But [they] have chosen to go into teaching on the basis that..." they get the summer off, a couple of weeks off at Christmas, all Bank Holidays, every single weekend, a couple of weeks at Easter and a week off every six weeks in between! It must be grueling. There's only so much money to go around, we need baby units, proper care for soldiers, more police and countless other services... stop whining you work-shy fops and get your marking done!
It is so important that we fight this, the UCU strike day was well supported, we must stand together and vote yes to strike. and those that moan about losing a day's pay, think about the overall costs to your pay if you do not fight.
As a UCU member I hope that all NUT and ATL members vote to support strike action on June 30th and that we are joined by our brothers and sisters in the PCS to show the government that public sector workers are not a push over and will not carry the can for an economic crisis we had no part in causing.
Take the money needed from the top 1000 earners in the UK who last year saw their wealth go up by 40% - £60bn. We're all in this together - yeah right!
@ADProtty - alright fatty, calm down. i was just pointing out the uncanny number of weight loss videos associated with these teacher pension videos.

Every teacher should watch this, calculate their losses and then direct their anger by voting yes!
